We like music. Fuckin’ love it actually. We spend all day working with it, on it, around it. Then, during our lunch break, we watch music videos and read music blogs. As such, our sensors are fine-tuned to pick up on anything of interest that bubbles up in the music world. That obscure Spanish language Diplo remix of the first ever Kanye/Deerhunter 7″ that’s coming out next month? Yeah, we’ve already heard it, like, a million times. What we want is something new. Something fresh. That’s what this elaborate series of tubes is supposed to bring us.

But it seems like every time we check the blogs, all we find is news about the sandwich Radioheadarcadefirebrokensocialscene’s made for lunch. Seriously. It’s the same two dozen bands everywhere you go, profiled with the same flash and intensity as an American Idol contest winner. Maybe if anybody still read Rolling Stone or Spin you could say otherwise, but really, there’s more press on so-called indie rock these days than there is on the similarly so-called mainstream. Indie rock is now just as much a definition of style as it is a declaration of principle. Which, you know…fine. Whatever. Everybody’s got their hustle, and far be it from us to get down on somebody for trying to make a little money. All we ask is that you dig up something newfangled every once in a while (see aforementioned references to fresh-ness, et al).

In fact, we’re willing to help. Give us some sharp tools and our own little patch of internet, we’ll poke around and see what we can find. If and when we find something worth sharing, we’ll post it here. You can take it, put it on a mixtape, share it with your friends. Get on the bandwagon early and then hold on, just in case it takes off. If we’re all lucky, soon enough we’ll be reading the exhaustive details about their latest adventures in sandwich land.
